Building and Fire Inspection

Building and Property Services are handled by the Director of Building and Property Services, Pat Boyce. Pat is responsible for:

• Building Inspections
• Fire Inspections
• Civic Addressing
• Dangerous and Unsightly Premises
• Enforcement of land use by-laws and sub division regulations

Building Inspection - enforcement of the building code and issuance of building permits

Permit Fees:

Fees for permits shall be as follows:

New construction and Additions -

• $5.00 plus 0.06 cents / sq. ft. excluding unfinished basements for residential buildings, community centre's and churches;
• 0.02 cents / sq. ft. for sheds, shell warehouses, garages, barns and other farm buildings;
• .10 cents / sq. ft. for other non-residential uses.

Repairs and Alterations -

• $5.00 plus $1.00 per $1000.00 estimated valuation
• Permit Renewals $5.00
• Demolition Permits $20.00

Fire Inspection - enforcement of the Fire Safety Act and Code as well as regulatory inspections

Civic Addressing - maintenance of Town's civic addresses, issuance of new civic numbers and issuance of new street names

Dangerous and Unsightly Premises - Action required based on receipt of formal complaint
